At Purpose Fill, we are committed to providing sustainable and efficient waste management solutions for our clients, and that includes recycling and diverting from landfill as much waste as possible, these procedures later allow for more specific recycling or repurposing of the waste materials.
As a female-owned and operated company, we understand that many of our clients are busy women who are looking for convenient and eco-friendly ways to dispose of their waste. That’s why we offer a range of recycling services that cater to the needs of our female client base.
here are several steps involved in the waste sorting process.
First, we collect the skip bins \ Purpose Bags from our client’s properties and bring it to our waste processing facility, we make sure we separate different types of waste materials so that they can be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner.
At the facility, the waste is sorted into different categories based on its type and composition.
Wood waste might be separated from metal waste, and cardboard might be separated from the plastic.
Wood waste for example is typically sourced from wood pallets and can also come from construction site leftovers, green or garden waste of all sorts .
To recycle wood, we first put it through our sorting line, the wood is sorted and separated into different types, such as untreated timber and treated lumber. The untreated timber is ideal for processing into landscaping chips and high-quality animal bedding, while the treated lumber is often used as fuel in wood-fired boilers or can be sold as firewood.
The process of recycling wood helps to reduce the amount of wood waste that ends up in landfill, which is good for the environment. It also helps to conserve natural resources by reducing the demand for new wood products. And because recycling wood is often cheaper than disposing of it in a landfill, it can also be a cost-effective solution for our clients.
Another major type of material we recycle is gypsum, which is a byproduct of plasterboard off-cuts. Our waste processing facility mechanically separates the gypsum from the paper, and the bulk recycled gypsum is then used in the horticulture and agricultural industries as a natural additive to fertiliser and compost. It can also be applied directly to the ground as a soil conditioner. The process of recycling gypsum helps to reduce the amount of this material that ends up in landfill, which is good for the environment. It also helps to conserve natural resources by reducing the demand for new gypsum products. And because recycling gypsum is often cheaper than disposing of it in a landfill, it can also be a cost-effective solution for our clients.
In addition to wood and gypsum, we also recycle metal and steel, which helps to divert these materials from landfill and get much better use in the future and reduces the need for new metal products to be mined .
Other materials would include tiles, whiteware, mattresses, plastics of sorts, and insulation. It also reduces the amount of metal waste that ends up in landfill, which is good for the environment.
