Starting tomorrow, Saturday 1 July, the era of single-use plastics is getting phased out like a forgotten trend! 
Say farewell to those plastic produce bags, plastic plates, bowls, and cutlery, as their manufacture, sale, and distribution will be BANNED! 
Let’s keep our environment in tip-top shape, shall we?
But wait, there’s more! Plastic straws will also face restrictions, becoming available only for those with disabilities and medical purposes. Let’s sip responsibly, folks! 
Now, this isn’t the first plastic party we’ve thrown! Last year, we banned hard-to-recycle and single-use plastics like polystyrene takeaway containers, plastic drink stirrers, and certain PVC food trays. We’re on a roll! 
And the journey continues! In 2025, we’ll be kicking even more single-use PVC and polystyrene food and drink packaging to the curb. It’s time to show these plastics who’s boss!
Kudos to the Ministry for the Environment for leading the charge on this “plastic-ular” initiative!
